About Cancer Unfiltered Magazine

Cancer Unfiltered was created because cancer changes everything and yet, too often, the real voices of patients and survivors get lost. This magazine is different. It’s for cancer patients, by cancer patients. It’s a place where honesty matters more than polish, where the stories are told by the people who have actually lived them.

Inside these pages, you’ll find real patient stories—the good, the bad, and everything in between. You’ll read survivor stories that remind us what’s possible, and insights from caregivers who walk alongside their loved ones through the hardest days. We’ll also bring in industry experts—oncologists, researchers, mental health professionals—who can share knowledge and advice in ways that actually connect with what we’re living through.

Whether you’re stage 1 or stage 4, newly diagnosed or in remission, there is something here for you. This is a space where recognition matters. Where your experiences; your trials, your struggles, your strength, are seen and valued. Because cancer is hard, and no one should ever feel like they have to face it alone.

Cancer Unfiltered is more than a magazine. It’s a community of voices. And if you’d like to add yours, we’d love to hear from you. Share your story with us at cancerunfilteredmagazine@gmail.com.

Because together, by telling the truth about what this journey really looks like, we remind each other that none of us are walking it alone.

About Sara Sandoval, Creator of Cancer Unfiltered Magazine

In August 2024, Sara was diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. A year later, she’s still here, still fighting, and still using her voice to make sure no one else feels invisible in this journey. She knows what it’s like to sit in the infusion chair, to hear the words you never thought you’d hear, and to wonder what comes next.

Starting Cancer Unfiltered is her way of making sure others don’t feel as alone as I once did. This magazine is built on truth, the hard parts and the hopeful ones, and it’s for every single person touched by cancer. She hopes that by sharing these stories, we create something bigger than one diagnosis or one journey: a space where every voice matters, and where we remind each other that even in the hardest moments, we are stronger together.
